School Ring Binder Tag.

Hello Bloggers,

School started the other day, and they asked the parents to provide ring binders for the kids. In Amsterdam one should not expect too much variety of stuff in the shops, so everyone gets pretty much the same design. To make our ring binder stand out a little, I decided to accessorize it with a name tag.

Here is a closer take.

This is a purely punched project. The background layers are embossed using several different folders to match the pattern on the ring binder itself, but the flowers and the foliage are punched. Even the shape of the tag is created by punching off the corners. The roses are 5-petal punches of 2 different sizes. I love the tiny ones. They make very cute little roses. Another example of those you can find here.

The leaves are made with my other favorite - Nellie Snellen Floral Punches: Nellie Snellen Floral Punch Medium Set FLP029 Rose Leaf, Nellie Snellen Floral Punch Jumbo Set FLP031 Rose Leaves.

Folders used:

  • Marianne Design Embossing Folder + Die Cross Stitching DF3417
  • Candy Strip Co723877 - Couture Creations 5x7 Embossing Folders Christmas Collection
  • Crafter's Companion Embossalicious BLOOMING WONDERFUL 6 X 6 Embossing Folder EF6-VF-BWON (the back side with the name, which I am not showing for an obvious reason)

Another challenge was to attach it to the ring binder the way we wanted - hanging on a rope. I used the We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile Hole Punch & Eyelet Setter to punch a hole in the binder and set an eyelet in. You really need to have a very strong hole punching tool for that - the ring binders are very thick.
